10 03 2008The weekend that past was another dive weekend for me. This is only my second dive for the year and it was already March. I have to get more dives in. I just miss it so much.
The weekend was to be different. First off, it was only Dennis (a good friend) and I. Second, we stayed at a resort that I’ve never been to. Ligpo Island Resort I was told is very basic but very cheap. I’ve never paid this low for a dive weekend ever.
The highlight of the weekend was when we spotted 6 spotted eagle rays “flying” together on the very first dive. Unfortunately it was overcast… which only meant that it would be dark at depth making it difficult for my camera to focus. I still managed 1 shot of the rays… well 3 of them at least (with one partially hidden).

Wow!!! 6 eagle rays in one sighting…that’s a treat. I’ll post your picture in our blog so we can generate interest for Ligpo? Maybe we can go there after your Palau trip this coming April.
That’s right … 6 of them. The beauty there was that they didn’t leave. Since we didn’t rush after them, they just hanged with us.
Dave said that we should do Bahura Ligpo after Palau … on nitrox no less, so we can extend our bottom time. On air, we could just stay 20-25 minutes before heading to the line to avoid deco …
Another thing is that we should go first thing in the morning when nobody has yet dived the area … hopefully they’ll be there.
